The Tata Indica V2 Turbo was earlier launched in the European markets, and is now launched in the Indian markets. At the heart of this model lies Tata's powerful 475 turbo diesel engine. The underlying reason for the top performance of this car is the turbo charger that significantly boosts the engine power while increasing the volumetric efficiency of the engine. With a seating capacity of five, this version has a five gear manual transmission with one speed reverse.
It has a 37 litre tank, which though slightly smaller, is compensated with its higher fuel efficiency of around 16.5 kmpl on the highway and 12.1 kmpl in city driving conditions. The overall mileage is around 12.8 under standard conditions.
The engine's performance is a step above the V2 (diesel) that provides an enhanced output of 62PS @ 4500 rpm for and a maximum torque of 62 PS for the DLS variant and maximum output of 68 PS @ 4500 rpm for the DLG and the DLX variants. These performance parameters are the highest in its class. The Tata Indica V2 Turbo features larger wheels with 13 for the DLS and 14 inch version for the DLX.
The Tata Indica V2 Turbo is available in three variants namely the DLS, DLG, and the DLX. While the DLS offers a unique air-conditioning system along with improved floor console and additional amenities such as mobile charger and cigarette lighter for the driver and occupant needs. The DLG offers the convenience of power steering and front power windows. Besides, the central locking system offers the owner complete peace of mind. Additionally, the H-VAC system is powerful enough to deliver the occupants with a cool experience during gruelling summers.
Furthermore, the DLX variant offers a choice of extra luxurious interiors with lush seats, adjustable headrests, and leather wrapped steering wheel. Also, body coloured door handles and OVRMs provide the occupants with a sense of aesthetics. The music system is a wonderful addition to drive coolly in dense traffic conditions, or while relaxing in comfort on a long drive on the highways. This model is available in three different variants with cool features and a range of choices to suit pockets.
The Tata Indica V2 Turbo DLS comes with a turbo diesel engine that delivers improved top speeds, enhanced power and acceleration. The Tata Indica V2 Turbo DLS is Tata's base level presentation in the V2 Turbo series with mid range price tag.
The Tata Indica V2 Turbo DLS delivers a fuel economy of approximately 13 kmpl to 17 kmpl depending upon driving conditions. With a 37 litre fuel tank, the Tata V2 DLS can go optimum distances without refuelling.
The Tata Indica V2 DLS comes with standard features like 13 alloy wheels, power steering, and air-conditioning. Safety features include child safety lock but do not include antilock braking system, SRS airbags, central locking, keyless entry, and anti theft system.
However, safety parameters like anti-submarine seats, collapsible steering column, provision for rear fog lamps and side intrusion beams on all four doors are included on the Tata Indica V2 Turbo DLS.

Indica V2 DLS problems
I have a Tata Indica DLS 2004, and in the period it has given me hell lot of service problems like hot start, cold start (winter), Goodyear tire problems, wheel bearing damages, Steering bushing. The major problems faced are Hot start issue stranded for 1-2 hours on highways!! ( becoming a sitting duck for my friends to make fun of)( Once I went to amarriage reception with my family, and was having greasy dirt in my hand, thanks to the indica failed to start when we stopped in between to purchase a gift. Service is very poor, and many times they say that we will give you good service if you give good feedback about us to TATA MOTORS. Another major problem is the Goodyear tire worn out with in six months by 12000 Km, leaving the dealer saying we ae not bothered about the issue, as tires are in package and no warranty card is given on that!!. Finally I selected Bridgestone Turanza tube less with auro alloy wheels from external agencies, which is having good road agility.
Tata deleres are not trained to keep the customer service. many don't know about the pain of customers. Dealers used to take 40-50 cars a day with very less infrastructure.
I will never recomend an Indica ( which I selected solely on the leg space factor, as I am 6 feet tall. Next I time I will plan for quality product from Japanese like Suzuki.
