This is a hatchback that is partly designed and developed by Tata Motors. With its predecessor as the Tata Indica, the V2 is its advanced variant with vastly improved features and technical specifications. It features an indigenously developed engine, but the body has been designed in association with an Italian designing company called I.D.E.A. The Tata Indica V2 is an idyllic combination of the overall structure of the Maruti Zen, the interior space of the Ambassador, and the cost of the Maruti.
It is available as five speed manual transmission 1.4 litre 62/68 BHP turbo-diesel engine model. It is capable of seating five people. With its 37 litre diesel tank, this model is capable of delivering around 16.6 kmpl on the highway, and around 12.27 kmpl in city driving conditions.
The Tata Indica V2 looks refreshingly different from other models in its segment that crowd Indian roads. However, the V2 base model comes with standard interiors that do not include features like air-conditioning, power door locks, power windows, power mirrors, power seats, inbuilt comprehensive music system, and leather seats.
The Tata Indica V2 comes in three different variants:
The Tata Indica V2 DLE (Diesel) features Tata's renowned 1405 cc 475 IDI with Microprocessor based Engine Management System (ECU) diesel engine. This engine delivers optimum power and torque, meaning thereby adequate performance, acceleration, and handling. The Tata Indica V2 DLE is Tata's mid level presentation with mid range price tag in the Indica V2 series.
The Tata Indica V2 DLE (Diesel) delivers a fuel economy of approximately 12 kmpl to 16.5 kmpl depending upon driving conditions. With its 37 litre fuel tank, travel optimum distances without refuelling.
The Tata Indica V2 DLE comes with enhanced level comfort and safety features. Included are grey wheel arch flairs, sill valence, and internally adjustable OVRMs on the driver side.
