Drive to your office in style in the Tata Nano - India's most preferred car manufacturer. A Tata car in India is an ideal family as well as personal choice any time. Spend a few minutes to read the New Tata Nano LX (Petrol) Review here.

The Tata Nano is prtesently the world's cheapest small car that is manufactured by Tata Motors in India. It is a rear-engined, four-passenger city car.

The Tata Nano was first presented at the 9th annual Auto Expo in 2008, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India and was commercially launched on March 23, 2009 admist great hype. The bookings for the Tata Nano started from April 9 to April 25. The sales of the car will begin in July 2009, with a starting price of Rs 115,000 (rupees), cheaper than the Maruti 800, the next cheapest Indian car priced at 184,641 Rupees.

Indeed, Tata had sought to produce the least expensive production car in the world aiming for a starting price of Rs.100,000 (approximately US$2,000 in March 2009).

The term "Nano" has been derived from Gujarati language which means small. Incidenatlly, it is the language of the founders of the Tata Group. In English, the prefix "nano-" is often used to mean small. This derives from the Greek root 'nanos', meaning dwarf.

The Tata Nano comes in three trim levels and their key features available at the time of launch are:

Tata Nano Standard: It is the standard version, comes in three colour options, and has single-tone seats, and fold-down rear seat

Tata Nano CX: This variant comes in five colour options, with heating and air-conditioning (HVAC), two-tone seats, parcel shelf, booster-assisted brakes, fold-down rear seat with nap rest;

Tata Nano LX: This has the same features of CX. Additionally, it has fabric seats, central locking, front power windows, body coloured exteriors in three premium colours, fog lamps, electronic trip meter, cup holder in front console, mobile charger point, and rear spoiler. Many of these features are not available on current entry-level small cars in the country.

Coming to performance & other specifications like fuel efficiency, emmission and safety Tata Nano is the best, as it has not compromised in quality despite the low cost price.

The Tata Nano comes with a warranty: 18 months or 24,000 km, whichever is earlier.

The Tata Nano LX encompasses all the features of CX like heating and air-conditioning (HVAC), two-tone seats, parcel shelf, booster-assisted brakes, and fold-down rear seat with nap rest. Apart from that it also has complete fabric seats, central locking, front power windows, and body colored exteriors in three premium colors. Other additional attributes of the Tata Nano LX are fog lamps, electronic trip meter, cup holder in front console, mobile charger point, and rear spoiler.

Doubt about Safety features Rating of 3 out of 5 Rating of 3 out of 5 Rating of 3 out of 5 Rating of 3 out of 5 Rating of 3 out of 5

To,
Mr. Ravi Kant,
CEO,
Tata Motors,
Mumbai

Dear Sir,
Tata Nano LX is really good in all respect, but the safety features are doubtful because there is no engine in the front, moreover no steel / metal casing is provided in the front portion and ofcourse no airbag facility given. In Nano Europa, company is planning to introduce airbags. We Indians who will buy Nano in India do not have the right to drive this car in secured condition? For this feature you add some more money, no problem, nothing is costlier than human life. During your next commercial ad for Nano, don't forget to give more stress on safety features of Nano. Specially during Head-on-collision, highlight the result of the Crush Test done.
Rear Leg space have should be taken care. legs should easily go under the front seat while sitting at the back.
Running AC for driving long distance- how far it will perform with 639 CC engine that is a real question mark.
If the company is really wanting the car to win the majority people's heart (estimated sale 5 - 10 lakh cars per annum) then the above features may be considered.
Your acknowledgement is highly appreciated.

Thks & Rdgs
