I am sports lover and wanted to buy a sturdy and rough and tough car. So I thought to buy Tata Sumo. But now I regret my decision.
Thought it has ample space, but comfort, engine, maintenance, etc also matters a lot which are all absent upto various degrees. The breaking system is not good, this I can say as the car doesnât stop immediately it is breaked. Also it consumes lot of petrol after some kms. Its mileage is around about 7-9 kms which is also low as compared to other cars in the same line.
Though it can be termed as MUV, it gives low quality output. Also it is too big a car for the congested roads of Mumbai.
I would suggest that go in for other cars if want to have a sturdy car.

If space is the only aspect u are looking at, then go for it. But for a buyers, i know many things matter. The looks, comfort, engine, interiors, maintenance cost...the list is endless. If you say, i am being harsh on the
vehicle, then there is a valid reason behind it.I bought a Tata Sumo SE 2000 model in Jan 2000 and sold it in July 2005.Drove it for six months till I found a crack in the chassis frame. Contacted the local dealer immediately for repair, who expressed his helplessness. Had to wait for almost three months for a chassis to be shipped from Thane for a replacement done free of charge as it was a manufacturing defect. Then there was a recurring allignment problem with the front tyres.Repairing costs of tyres was pretty unbearable. My vehicle covered over 2lakh km and I have faced numerous problems with the same but I've listed only the major probles Ive faced. I wouldn't reccommend the vehicle to anyone.
