i bought tata sumo without asking anyone. And see where i have landed. Till 16000 kilometers everything was fine, after the uneven tyre wear started. I had to change the tyres once 20,000 kms were covered. It costs me around Rs.14,000. When i showed to the dealer, he too voiced the same concern, saying that all Sumo's have the same problem. Now it had travelled 70000 kilometers the top speed now it can acheive is maximum 100 kms/hour.At the same time other suvs reach 120 kms/hour easily.mileage is only 8-9 kms.for each service i am paying rs 5000.on running 1000 kms i have to fill 1 ltr oil extra to the engine. What's suprising to me, in spite of so many problems, the SUV is gaining grounds among the masses.
dont know why people are promoting the cheating of tatas. Also, the brakes of sumo is very poor if a sudden break is applied no one can't predict when it stops and how it stops. Also there are a lot of problem with the back
plates they produce some irritating sound if it was not lubricated so buy one bottle of oil while buying a sumo for lubricating the plates during journey. The body is also of very low quality
