BMW Canada is pleased to announce pricing for the all-new X6 xDrive35i and X6 xDrive50i Sports Activity Coupés.

Creating an entirely new segment, the new BMW X6 redefines the very notion of a Coupé, with five doors, luxurious seating for four, a capacious cargo area and striking new profile. A bold new addition to the BMW lineup, the new BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupé carves out its new niche with a breathtaking muscular stance and commanding ride height, combined with two state-of-the-art engine variants, both featuring twin turbos and direct injection.

The X6 xDrive35i comes equipped with BMW’s acclaimed 3.0 litre inline six-cylinder engine with twin turbos and direct fuel injection producing 300 horsepower and 300 ft-lb of torque - available from 1,400 through 5,000 rpm . The International Engine of the Year – winning powerplant launches the X6 xDrive35i from 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds through the standard high-efficiency 6-speed sport automatic transmission. Arriving at BMW retailers on April 26, the X6 xDrive35i will have a base MSRP of $63,900.

The X6 xDrive50i debuts with an all-new 4.4 litre V8 engine with twin turbo technology, direct gasoline injection and dual-VANOS infinite camshaft management. With a maximum output of 400 horsepower and peak torque of 450 ft – lb, available from 1,800 through 4,500 rpm, the X6 xDrive50i takes its place as the most powerful X model in the BMW lineup. Seamlessly delivering its output through the standard high-efficiency 6-speed sport automatic transmission, the X6 xDrive50i storms from 0-100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds, putting it in a league of its own. Reaching showrooms later this summer, the X6 xDrive50i will have a base MSRP of $78,100.

The new X6 Sports Activity Coupé also introduces the latest evolution of BMW’s sophisticated xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive technology – Dynamic Performance Control. While xDrive controls the distribution of drive power between the front and rear axles, instantaneously adjusting to driving conditions, Dynamic Performance Control, featured for the first time on the BMW X6, ensures variable distribution of drive forces between the two rear wheels via an innovative rear differential incorporating two planetary gearsets and two clutch packs that enable the system to multiply torque on an individual rear wheel. The result is that Dynamic Performance Control, effective on both acceleration and deceleration, can help steer the vehicle by directing torque to either of the rear wheels, delivering unprecedented handling dynamics and steering precision at any speed.

A dynamic, powerful presence:
The silhouette of the new X6 Sports Activity Coupé is nothing less than imposing from the first glance, with its dynamically low hoodline and aggressive profile, accentuated by a high waistline and large wheel arches, housing standard 19-inch light-alloy wheels. The rear profile of the new X6 is subdivided by horizontal lines giving a wider look and emphasizing its powerful stance and road-holding capabilities. The greenhouse, with its strikingly low rear window, in turn, tapers out smoothly towards the rear, with the rear lid featuring a distinct air flow lip, emphasizing its Coupé orientation.

A premium driving environment and seating for four:
The luxurious cabin of the new BMW X6 offers the occupants of all four seats an elevated, commanding seating position with standard Nevada leather upholstery and integrated headrests on all four seats. With standard Glass Sunroof, Heated Sport Seats, 2-zone Automatic Climate Control, and a HiFi Sound System with 12 speakers, including 2 subwoofers, ergonomic Electronic Shift Lever and a Multifunction Sport Steering Wheel with gearshift paddles, the new BMW X6 provides its driver and passengers with a dynamic and sumptuous driving experience.

Additional standard equipment exclusive to the BMW X6 xDrive50i include a BMW On-board Navigation System and Self-leveling Rear Air suspension.

Wide opening rear doors facilitate easy access to the two individual rear seats that are dissected by a tasteful and flexible center console with two beverage holders under sliding covers. Rear headroom of 94 centimetres, unusually generous for a Coupé, ensures supreme comfort and convenience, even for tall passengers.

Offering 725 litres of storage space, the luggage compartment behind the rear seats of the new BMW X6 is far larger than in a conventional coupe, providing enough space to store four full-size golf bags in the luggage compartment—even with four people riding in the vehicle. The luggage compartment also boasts a firm, folding cover that can be stowed beneath the floor for convenient transportation of bulky objects. The rear-seat backrests may be folded down in an asymmetric split, expanding loading capacity to a substantial 1687 litres.

A plethora of customization options:
Complementing the extensive range of standard equipment, both BMW X6 models can be further customized from an unprecedented array of options and option packages.

Highlights of stand-alone options available on both models include Active Steering, an Automatic Tailgate with adjustable opening height, Rear DVD Entertainment System, Manual Side Sunshades, Comfort Seats with Lumbar Support, SIRIUS Satellite Radio and USB Audio Integration.* Head-Up Display is exclusive to the X6 xDrive50i.

Technologies and equipment featured in the BMW X6 Option Packages, tailored specifically for each model, include such items as a Sport Package with 20-inch Alloy Wheels, a Rear Climate Package with heated rear seats and Automatic 4-zone Climate Control, Rear View Camera, a Premium Sound Package with Multi-Media Changer and, exclusive to the X6 xDrive50i, a Dynamic Handling Package which includes Active Steering and Adaptive Drive. *
