Mercedes-Benz has continued its tradition of attracting the biggest names in movies, sport and fashion by teaming up with Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi.

The superstar was the brand’s guest of honour at the China auto show in Beijing and presented the Mercedes-Benz GLK.

Known best for her Oscar-winning role in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", the star talked of her love for the new Mercedes-Benz model.

"I love this powerful, great looking all-rounder. It has an unmistakable character - a perfect partner that takes me wherever I want to go in safety and comfort and, especially in the city, cuts a stunning figure," she explained.

Ms Ziyi is also involved in a Chinese advertising campaign for the SLK roadster and follows a number of big names to be involved with the Mercedes-Benz brand.

Kim Catrall, one of the stars of "Sex and the City" helped to introduce the same vehicle in the North American show, while herself and some of her co-stars featured at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.

The new GLK-Class will only be made for left hand drive markets and will not be sold in the UK.
