The Tyre Manufacturer of the Year award was last won by Michelin in 2006. The Company was recognised this year for (amongst other things) its commitment to the
2008 Industry Advertising Campaign of the year
This is the second year running that Michelin has picked up the award. The TV message was reinforced by posters and petrol pump advertising at service stations and garages and on Company delivery trucks. New media were also targeted with online campaigns on sites including MSN, Yahoo and AOL. The award recognised Michelin advertising as strong, clear, with positive graphics and with a commitment to continuity of message.

In 2007, Michelin producted 191 million tires and 17 million maps and guides.
The replacement tire market, in the Passenger Car-Light Truck and the Truck markets, represents some 70% of our sales in volumes. Accordingly, before being a equipment supplier for vehicle manufacturers, Michelin is primarily a player on the consumer market for passenger cars and motorcycles and on the professional consumer goods market for light and heavy utility vehicles.
