ZF's Supervisory Board appoints new Chairman

Prof. Dr. Giorgio Behr was elected new Chairman of ZF's Supervisory Board at the constituent meeting on May 8. He is the successor of Rainer Thieme who is no longer available for this office.

Friedrichshafen. Prof. Dr. Giorgio Behr will chair the Supervisory Board of ZF Friedrichshafen AG. For this office, the 59-year old entrepreneur from Switzerland can draw back on his extensive experience in Management and Consulting. Behr has already been active in business for the consultancy and auditing company KPMG and the Hesta Group (Schiesser AG and Zellweger Luwa AG). From 1984 he set up the consulting company BDS.

Moreover, starting in 1991, he restructured various companies which he merged in his Group of Companies, the Behr Bircher Cellpack BBC. Until 2007 he was President of the Saurer Group and in the Administrative Board of the Hilti company.

Giorgio Behr received the title of professor emeritus in 2005 as a professor for Business Studies at the University of St. Gallen, where he currently assumes the position of honorary professor. He represented Switzerland at international accounting boards – among other at the United Nations as well as the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Moreover, he was the expert of the Swiss Bundesrat and among the group of experts of the Swiss Exchange. Between 2005 and 2007 he was President of the "Treuhandkammer" (Swiss Association of Auditors and Tax Experts).

Today, the Swiss entrepreneur is foundation councilor of the Hilti Trust and manages his BBC Group as CEO and President. In addition, he is President of several non-profit foundations and is com-mitted to the top league of Swiss Handball. Giorgio Behr is married and has four grown-up sons.
