ROANOKE, Va – Advance Auto Parts, Inc, a leading automotive aftermarket retailer of parts, batteries, accessories, and maintenance items, announced today that Joel Yonts has been promoted to Vice President – Chief Information Security Officer and Jim Upchurch has been promoted to Vice President, Technical Shared Services. Yonts and Upchurch will both report directly to Rick Coro, Senior Vice President, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer.

Mr. Yonts will be responsible for the oversight of all data security across the enterprise including our subsidiaries, and is responsible for ensuring that the Company employs a strategic and holistic approach to information security. Mr. Yonts has been with Advance Auto Parts since August 2004. He most recently served as Director, Information Security. Prior to joining Advance, Mr. Yonts held positions with Lowe's Company, Inc., Chandler Medical Center and Lexmark International. Mr. Yonts attended the University of Kentucky where he studied Computer Science.

Mr. Upchurch will be responsible for all Technical Services and Infrastructure including Computer Operations, Data Centers, Network Services, Technical Support, Systems Administration, Database Administration, Store Equipment Support, Supply Chain Systems Support, Systems Architecture and the IT Help Desk. Mr. Upchurch joined Advance Auto Parts in April 2006. He most recently served as Director, Enterprise Technical Services and Architecture. Prior to joining Advance, Mr. Upchurch held positions with Accenture and MEMC Southwest. Mr. Upchurch also served in the United States Army where he performed as Brigade Signal Officer. Mr. Upchurch attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
