Stuttgart – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is a major event on the fashion calendar: between July 17 and 20 top German and international labels and designers will be showing their latest creations in Berlin. Exceptional products from Mercedes-Benz will add a touch of glamour to the catwalk. The exclusive iPhone pouch, featuring high-quality CRYSTALLIZED Swarovski Elements, provides a glimpse of what can be expected in the new GLK Collection.

Top-class design is something that is synonymous with Mercedes-Benz – and it’s not just vehicle design. For years now the brand has been the title sponsor of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weeks, staged in Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Mexico City and has supported numerous fashion events in cities such as Milan, Stockholm and Amsterdam. July 2008 will mark the third time that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has been staged in Berlin. Top international designers and young fashion talents of the future will gather there to show their exclusive creations and accessories to a select audience.

The spectacular event will also showcase the new Mercedes-Benz GLK, a compact SUV which has been making its mark in the style and fashion world, particularly with its stylish appearance alongside Kim Cattrell, alias Samantha in the current hit movie “Sex and the City”.

The GLK also served as a source of inspiration for the exclusive iPhone pouch, a limited-edition item created specially for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: the original and stylish design will be continued in the GLK Collection on the market launch in October 2008, along with other accessories for fashion-conscious fans of the new model – all of which will be available via the Mercedes-Benz partners.

Fashion outfit for the iPhone
The elegant and original iPhone pouch, made from fine white nappa leather, will be spotlighted on the Berlin catwalk. The crisp cut-out transparent GLK lettering – a characteristic feature of the entire GLK Collection – has been lavishly trimmed with CRYSTALLIZED™ Swarovski Elements. The effect is eye-catching: when the iPhone display is activated, the refraction of light through the fine-cut crystals ensures that the GLK lettering shimmers in an attractive play of colours. Inside the GLK iPhone pouch is lined with a special magenta-coloured fabric. The exclusive branding appreciates the value of this elegant accessory.

Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH has been working closely with the Austrian crystal specialist Swarovski for some time now. The strictly limited edition of 40 exclusive, glittering iPhone pouches will be exclusively raffled for invited guests of Mercedes-Benz in the Lounge. Together with a new GLK Collection T-shirt – also trimmed with quality CRYSTALLIZED Swarovski Elements – the pouch heralds further collaboration between the two partners.

The future GLK Collection will feature a further variant of the iPhone pouch in elegant black, designed for customers with more classic tastes. The fine leather pouch is particularly practical, its versatile design offering attractive protection for other Apple products too, such as the iPod touch. For drivers of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars the multimedia enjoyment doesn’t end there. Like other model series, the GLK-Class offers a convenient and secure connection for the iPhone on board with the usual multifunction steering wheel control.
