Telefonica O2 Germany is taking a further great step within its "mobile web" offensive and extending its portfolio with the O2 Surf Station and the O2 Surf & TV Stick. The new products are optimized for customers who are always on the move, and who want fast access to the internet. By means of WLAN, the O2 Surf Station enables mobile surfing the web with several PCs or laptops at the same time. This is ideal for consultants and for students. The upgrading of O2 high-speed data access has really taken off. Now, HSDPA allows more and more O2 customers on the move to surf the internet quickly just as they can at home.

O2 Surf Station:
With the O2 Surf Station, a Surf Stick or the Surf & TV Stick, the customer's own WLAN network can be adjusted quickly and easily. The Surf Station offers WLAN 802.11b/g and supports all current encryption standards such as WEP, WPA and WPA2. Security within the network is guaranteed by the integrated firewall. In this way, several computers can be networked on the move quickly and with minimum effort in the O2 high-speed net.

O2 Surf & TV Stick:
The O2 Surf & TV Stick with DVB-T and HSDPA enables mobile television, for example, to access the Olympic Games also on a laptop. With a size of 70.5 x 38 x 10.5 mm and a weight of 40g, it fits in a trouser pocket. Thanks to the easy installation with integrated software, it is ready for instant use. Together with TV reception through DVB-T, the O2 Surf & TV Stick enables consistently fast data transfer at 3.6 Mbs by means of HSDPA. In addition, the O2 Surf & TV Stick is already prepared for the next generation of fast data transmission through HSUPA.

Without a contract, the cost of O2 Surf & TV Stick is € 179.99 and of the O2 Surf Station € 99.99. Both devices will be available from August, 2008. However, the Surf & TV Stick is already available on the O2 Active Data tariff and with the Internet Pack L data flat rate at a price of € 39.99.

HSDPA – Mobile data turbo now available in more and more cities:
Thanks to the rapid expansion of the high-speed data network of O2, applications requiring a greater amount of data can also be accessed on mobile devices without any problems. More than 20 percent of the population is currently covered by the rapid transfer technology HSDPA. Every week, more regions are added and a coverage of 60 % is planned by 2009. By the end of the year, the entire UMTS network of O2 will be HSDPA-capable corresponding to more than 50 percent of the population coverage. And, this year, EDGE and HSUPA will also be launched.
