Honda Canada Inc. reported combined record July sales of 15,996 units by its Honda and Acura divisions, a 17% increase over last July. The Honda Automobile Division reported record July sales of 14,465 units, up 19%. The Acura Division reported July sales of 1,531 units, unchanged from last year.
"Canadian car buyers are looking for high-value vehicles such as Honda's fuel-efficient Accord, Civic and Fit, which have a combined year over year increase of 20 per cent," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president, Honda Canada Inc.
"Our all-new 2009 Pilot, with a sales increase of 81 per cent, is proving to be a right vehicle at the right time for Canadian families thanks to Honda's innovative Variable-Cylinder Management system that makes it Canada's most fuel-efficient eight-passenger sport-utility vehicle."
Honda July sales highlights include:
- Honda Pilot sets July sales record of 642 units, up 9% over the previous July sales record of 583 units in 2005 (and up 81% over last year)
- Honda Fit sets July sales record of 1,493, up 7% over the previous July sales record of 1,389 in 2007
- Honda Accord July sales of 2,367 increased 83% over last year

- Acura MDX sets July sales record of 465 units, up 16% over the previous July sales record of 389 units in 2004 (and up 58% over last year)
- Acura RDX sets July sales record of 294 units, up 19% over the previous July sales record of 238 units in 2007
- Acura TSX - all-new for 2009 - had July sales of 287, an increase of 41% over last year
