GM Canada announces July 2008 sales result

For July 2008, General Motors of Canada dealers delivered 33,893 units, up 5.2 % from a year ago.

“GM Canada's July sales continue to illustrate the ongoing shift toward cars and smaller crossovers and we have the vehicles and retail finance rates to satisfy that need,” said Marc Comeau, GM of Canada’s vice-president of sales, service, and marketing. “GM’s family of fuel efficient vehicles including the Pontiac G5 and G6, Chevrolet Cobalt and Malibu were hot sellers showing strong growth for the month.”

Comeau added, “GM sells more cars in Canada than any other manufacturer. Consequently, we are very well positioned in the Canadian market and will continue to be so with 18 of our next 19 launches being cars or crossover vehicles."
