Harvard professor Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night phone call while on business in Paris: the elderly curator of the Louvre has been brutally murdered inside the museum. Alongside the body, police have found a series of baffling codes. As Langdon and a gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, begin to sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to find a trail that leads to the works of Leonardo Da Vinci -- and suggests the answer to a mystery that stretches deep into the vault of history. Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine code and quickly assemble the pieces of the puzzle, a stunning historical truth will be lost forever...

Dan Brown is tantamount to the Da Vinci Code and its haunting protagonist; Professor Langdon. Read, loved, criticized and portrayed on celluloid; this is indeed one of the best books I have ever laid hands on.
Professor Robert Langdon receives a late night phone call, giving him the news of the demise of Louvre's elderly curator. He was brutally murdered inside the museum and beside the body; the police had found symbols that were like baffling codes.
Cryptologist Sophie Neveu and Langdon are summoned by the cops to resolve the mystery. The dead man has left behind a plethora of codes which ought to be deciphered. Their research leads them to the works of Leonardo Da Vinci. There are several twists and turns to the mystery and as it unravels, it takes the reader to the crypt of History.
The labyrinthine code should be deciphered by Sophie and Langdon to unravel a historical truth. In failing to do so, the truth would be lost forever. This surely makes for an interesting read. Reading this page turner is the best possible way to decipher the code alongside Langdon. The summation of reader responses is indeed impressive and I cannot agree more with all those who have simply loved the book.
