This section explains how to read Microsoft Reader ebooks on your devices. People who are already aware of what Microsoft Reader is, may skip reading this section and proceed to buying the ebook.
Please note that the current download will only work on 'Windows' or devices supporting Microsoft Reader like ebook readers.

The downloaded Microsoft Reader(.lit) eBook can be opened with 'Microsoft Reader' application only. This app is supported by many devices including PC/Desktops/Tablet-PCs/Mobiles with Windows OS.
Here are steps to download Microsoft Reader For Desktops/PC
Click the download link.
In the File Download box, select Save this program to disk.
Save the file named "MSReaderSetupUSA.exe" to your hard drive.
When the download is completed, locate MSReaderSetupUSA.exe on your hard drive and double-click the file to begin installation.
Note: If you are running Internet Explorer 5.0 or later, a dialog box will appear when the download is completed, and you will be prompted to begin installation.
You'll be prompted to activate your copy of Microsoft Reader. This important step is required to purchase premium eBook titles that have been encrypted for distribution through the activation process.
Note: If you currently have an activated version of Microsoft Reader 1.5 or 1.51 on your laptop or desktop computer, make sure that you use the same Passport or Hotmail account to re-activate the new version after downloading it. (You must use the same account information to open and read the Owner Exclusive content that you have already purchased.)
When installation is complete, you may be prompted to restart your PC. After the restart, the installation will continue. We strongly recommend activating your device at time of installation so you can purchase and open the Owner Exclusive premium content you may already have.

Create a live ActiveSync connection with the device, and ensure that synchronization is working properly.

Activating Microsoft Reader using a Microsoft Passport
To activate Microsoft Reader using an Microsoft Passport
When you first open Microsoft Reader, you are prompted to activate your device. Click on the Activation link to complete the activation process. You can also choose to activate your device at any time from the Microsoft Reader Activation page at:Microsoft Reader Activation
If you do not have a Microsoft Passport account, you will need to create one in order to sign in and start the activation process. Click the "Get one" link to create a Passport account, and continue with Reader activation.
If you already have a Microsoft Passport account, click "Sign in to start the Activation process".
Enter your Microsoft Passport sign-in name and password.
You will be directed to the activation page, where you can activate your device. Pocket PC devices must be tethered to activate. Click the "Continue" link to initiate the Activation process. The length of time needed to complete activation will depend on the speed of your internet connection.
