Crime and violence against women is an age-old considered weak, vulnerable and in a position to be exploited. Gender injustice, taking the shape of crimes against women without punishment of the criminal, is escalating the world over but in India it has ancient cultural roots and modern maligant manifestations where guardians of social defense are allegedly biased.
