About the Book
Mathematical Physics has been written primarily to cater to the needs of the undergraduate physics students. It is also useful to postgraduate students of physics as well as to first-year engineering students of all streams. It is mapped to cover all topics in the University of Delhi semester mode syllabus of Mathematical Physics and provides a little more than the general introduction to the subject. The book focuses on the basic concepts. Numerous solved examples and practice problems are included to allow the reader a thorough comprehension in each of the topics covered.
About the Author
Dr Partha Goswami, Ph.D. from University of Delhi, is presently an Associate Professor in Physics in Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi. He has been teaching Mathematical Physics, Mechanics, and Thermodynamics in this college since 1985 to B.Sc. (Physics Honors) students. His areas of specialization are broadly condensed matter physics (theory) and various advanced mathematical techniques. Particularly, he has mastery over green function technique of solving many-body problems to some degree. He has published seventeen research papers so far in prestigious journals of physics
