About the Author :
Deep Narayan Pandey joined the Indian Forest Service in 1988 following a five-year stint as a forest ranger and assistant. His interest in wildlife conservation led him to visit more than 200 Indian protected forest areas, wildlife sanctuaries, national parks and tiger reserves. He won the Hewetson Gold Medal for Best Forester in 1984 and the Silver Medal for Proficiency in Forest Management in 1987.
