Highlights of Reader's Digest April 2017, issue: The April issue, a humour special, is in honour of all things foolish and funny. The cover story, an elaborate It Happens Only in India, is a selection of hilarious, outlandish, and sometimes outrageous, gaffes from lawmakers and law enforcers to petty thieves and criminals. Some of them are silly, others are plain dumb. Then there is the photo feature 'What Was I Thinking?' that captures comical candid shots of animals from around the world. We celebrate Earth Day (22 April) with 'The Poem That Saved the Forest', the story of how a few lines of verse rescued thousands of redwoods. The award-winning author Paul Beatty speaks to writer Amrita Tripathi in 'Not a Sellout', on labels, self-expression and a post-Trump world. Do read about the brave Doctors Without Borders in 'We Give Them a Second Chance', operating in a lone Jordanian hospital that provides both relief and refuge to the war-wounded. Drama unfolds in 'Shark in the Shallows' as a nurse mauled by a bull shark fights to hold on to her dear life. 'How to Look Smart' is a guide to talk the talk and walk the talk, while 'The Other Honolulu' goes beyond the beaches and explores the Hawaiian capital like never before. This month You Be the Judhttp://www.infibeam.com/Magazines/living-media-robb-report/P-maga-51756290157-cat-z.htmlge shines light on an important judgement-the right to be forgotten on the internet. Keep an eye out for Dr Vikram Patel's column where he talks about the sorry state of mental healthcare in the country, the Dalai Lama's Words of Lasting Interest on compassion, and what stand-up artist Mallika Dua would do if she could rule the world. There is also a survival plan against sudden disasters and author Jerry Pinto's best reads in this issue. Happy reading!
